Oh how sweet it is. Although Sweet bakery has been open in Boston for over two years, I continue to have the same adoration for the place as the first day I first walked through its doors. The bright, clean, pretty shop is beyond welcoming. If anything, it makes me want to move in. Now with three locations, Sweet continues to bake some of the best cupcakes (and cakes) in the city. Although a bit pricey, they use the very best ingredients and everything is made with sweet love and care in their kitchens. In addition to their more standard flavors (“the sweet cake” is my favorite, btw), they also make super creative seasonal and holiday items. For example, in the Spring they have a fantastic cupcake with a blue bunny peep on top. Now I don’t usually eat Peeps but it’s somehow more appealing when it’s popped on top of a cupcake. Need a quick pick me up but can’t handle the guilt of a full-sized cupcake? Try one of their mini-cupcakes OR a shot of frosting. Oh yes…really. Not sure what you’ll like? You can check out a sampling on their menu online.
If you need something sweet, you’ve found the place.
